My husband, Chris, was first diagnosed with lupus in 2012 after a month long stay in the hospital. At the age of 24 he had two bouts of pneumonia, bilateral pulmonary emboli, and was even catatonic all within a 3 month period. Due to an AMAZING GOD, determined doctors and a loving community of supporters, Chris is now learning to live with the disease and is a true example of a lupus thriver. Last year, team Mega Powers raised over $1,000.00 for the Walk to End Lupus Now and hope to raise at least $1,500.00 this year. Please find it in your heart to donate again or for the first time. Funds go toward lupus research and provides patient services and support for lupus patients and their families. Thanks for all of your support!
Lupus is an auto-immune disease that attacks the body’s own tissues and organs. It is often difficult to diagnose because its symptoms mimic those of other diseases.Approximately 5 million people have lupus in the U.S.,this number is believed to be significantly higher because of the lack of proper diagnosis. About 90% of lupus thrivers are women and 10% are men.
